“It’s a song about humanity and hope,” says Elly Thorn. “It really speaks to the essence of who we are as a nation, welcoming people who are fleeing tragic circumstances.” The song is currently available for download on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/you-didnt-even-know-me.
All proceeds from the sale of You Didn’t Even Know Me will be donated to organizations working with refugees, including Saskatoon’s Open Door Society and Global Gathering Place.
“We are grateful to Elly and her team for reaching out with such a unique and creative gift,” says Afton Tolley of Global Gathering Place. “The messages of warmth, inclusiveness and hope inspire us, as we strive to help all refugees make this place their home.”
“Saskatoon is my home and I want to give back to the community that has supported me,” says Thorn. “I am so grateful for this opportunity and to my wonderful team who has generously given of their time and talent.” The music video is being produced in conjunction with Tara Yolan Productions and Cynthia Block Communications.
